Wells River Savings Bank

While most every other track in the area (and by "area" I mean BIG AREA) canceled early based on the promised rain that was to come, Butch and the crew busted their asses to get the track ready for some great competition. They did a great job, both with track preparation as well as running through races just as fast as they possibly could. It was a GREAT team effort between the staff and the drivers....as one race would head off the track down pit road (off turn three) the next would be entering the front stretch (from turn four) and would receive the Green Flag next time around. It made it a little tough to keep up in the infield but was really impressive to see. A surprisingly low number of cautions to slow things down....but eventually the rains came and closed down the festivities after all of the qualifying and three of the Features (visiting Granite State Mini Sprints got both of their Main Events in.....Lacey Hanson won the 500cc event while Alex Curley took the Checkers in a rain-shortened 600cc Feature.

So, what does the rain mean for the events that didn't run? It means that at this week's event not all of the fireworks will be courtesy of Noise-R-Us! Double Features in the Bond Auto Parts DIRTcar Sportsman Modifieds, Wells River Chevrolet Sportsman Coupes, A Notch Above Automotive Limited Late Models, and Weglarz Property Service Fast Fours.....plus the regularly scheduled NAPA Auto Parts Hornets and the Hornet Stinger youth class. Oh - Don't forget about the first visit of the year for the WYKR Radio Sprint Cars of New England and the USAC Dirt Mideget Association making a return trip. All in all, 8 Divisions will compete in 12 Feature Events.....all on one of the biggest nights that the Northeast has seen in decades. And all for the same low price as every other week! You CANNOT beat this track when it comes to providing value for the fans dollar!
