Sanders, George

George comes into 2011 with the right attitude - he's here to have fun and do his best to compete. He doesn't have the best equipment, even for the Junkyard Warrior Division. But this years' car is much faster and looks to handle better than the ride he was in last season....and I'm hopeful that will lead to a few Feature Event starts and a podium or two.

EVENT 1 - MERCHANTS BANK 150

MAY 1, 2011

George held his own through the Reserve Feature

For some reason, Sanders was sent to the back of the field following this caution. No idea why.

Sanders leads the field down the front stretch

George returns to the track after a little sight-seeing over Turn Three

EVENT 6 - FAIRPOINT COMMUNICATIONS

JUNE 30, 2011

George is getting faster every week....he just lacks a bit of aggression and gets shuffled around.

No luck getting in through the Reserve Feature

EVENT 7 - PEPSI HOLIDAY EVENT

JULY 4, 2011

George looked pretty fast in his heat race

Unfortunately, he has to continue to deal with aggressive driving like this when there's really no need for it.

This guy pushed Sanders into the corner and George had to slow down to avoid being wrecked

EVENT 8 - CHARTER COMMUNICATIONS

JULY 7, 2011

Sanders did his best to hold onto a qualifying spot in his heat race....but some of the other Warriors

are just too fast!

George did a great job here locking up the brakes to avoid the 'Widow Maker'

Reserve Feature action

EVENT 9 - TIMES ARGUS MID-SEASON CHAMPIONSHIPS

JULY 14, 2011

George took the white flag (one lap left) in the lead in the Warriors heat race

Entering the last turn of the Heat, George was holding off the two top runners. While Kevin Wheatley held back

and played clean, Jason Woodard and his little red battering ram spun him out and cost him the win.

After being spun by Woodard, Sanders was drilled by Brock Parrott who had no where to go.

Is this stuff really necessary? Someone is going to get hurt.

EVENT 10 - CASELLA WASTE MANAGEMENT

JULY 21, 2011

George did not compete at this event

EVENT 11 - WDEV & CALKINS PORTABLE TOILETS

JULY 28, 2011

George looked good in the heat race....leading much of it

For only the second time all season, George made it into the Main Event!

Sanders with his well-earned 3rd Place Trophy
