Kingsbury, Troy

Troy heads up VG Racing, a reference to Village Grocery in Waitsfield that he and his wife own. Despite multiple bouts with bad luck in 2010, Kingsbury maintained his positive attitude and remained one of the most popular drivers in the Street Stock Division. Securing a great sponsorship package with Mountain Dew, he starts 2011 with a new car, new energy and a new teammate, Ken Christman. Look for the combination to carry some Checkered Flags this year!

EVENT 1 - MERCHANTS BANK 150

MAY 1, 2011

That Mountain Dew sponsorship paid quick dividends as Troy had the crowd gathering around

his car all day at the car show.

Engine problems struck early....after having to trailer his car to the track instead of

participating in the parade Troy just couldn't get things straightened out.

Troy arrived at the track on Opening Day with a new motor....and it was fast!

Kingsbury went high on the backstretch to avoid this wreck on his way to a 6th Place Finish on

Opening Day

EVENT 2 - MEKKELSEN RV MEMORIAL DAY CLASSIC

MAY 29, 2011

Troy looked strong all day

Kingsbury avoids a spinning MC Ingram on his way to a 9th Place finish

EVENT 3 - FERGUSON WATERWORKS

JUNE 16, 2011

Troy had to dodge spinning cars all night! In the heat it was Thomas Placey getting sent around before Kingsbury got to him

Troy has definitely been one of the most consistent cars in the division....he ended this one with a strong 6th place finish!

EVENT 4 - HERITAGE EQUIPMENT

JUNE 19, 2011

Action from the Heat Race

Outside three wide down the back stretch on the way to a 7th place finish

EVENT 5 - GOVERNOR'S CUP

JUNE 26, 2011

Have to say that the VGRacing, Mountain Dew #39 stands out more than just about any other car in the Street Stocks

Troy survived this chaos to grab a 9th place finish...and move into a tie for the lead in points

EVENT 6 - FAIRPOINT COMMUNICATIONS

JUNE 30, 2011

Kingsbury couldn't get going in his heat race and moved into the Reserve Feature

Sharing the front row with teammate Kyle Streeter

Checkers in the Reserve.....now on to the Main Event (where he had a surprise for people)

Troy is doing his best to entertain...with that in mind he received special permission from the track promoter

to run this light kit ONLY once and ONLY tonight and ONLY if he made it to the Feature. Good thing he won that Reserve!

He went on to a 9th place finish.

EVENT 7 - PEPSI HOLIDAY EVENT

JULY 4, 2011

Kingsbury came into this event solidly in the Top Five in points - and proving that consistency is the

name of the game in a division as tight as the Street Stocks!

In the night cap, Troy battled his way to another Top Ten finish

EVENT 8 - CHARTER COMMUNICATIONS

JULY 7, 2011

Kingsbury had to go through the Reserve Feature to make the Big Show

I'm sure it's not the finish he was hoping for but 15th in the Feature left Troy 3rd overall in points heading into next week's

Mid-Season Track Championship with double points on the line

EVENT 9 - TIMES ARGUS MID-SEASON CHAMPIONSHIPS

JULY 14, 2011

If you look closely, you can see that Troy is looking at his teammate Kyle Streeter's #37 go over the

high side during the Heat Race

Taking the Green Flag in the Reserve

Troy got turned around in the Feature and took a hit in the points race. I think he still sits in the Top 5

EVENT 10 - CASELLA WASTE MANAGEMENT

JULY 21, 2011

After struggling in his heat, Troy went on to win the Reserve Feature

In a rarity, Kingsbury finished outside the Top Ten

EVENT 11 - WDEV & CALKINS PORTABLE TOILETS

JULY 28, 2011

Troy couldn't get around anyone in the heat race

This synchronized spin with Alex Whitcomb in the Reserve may have looked cool....but it took him from leading

the race to being knocked out of the Feature

Photographer Leif Tillotson runs out of the path of Kingsbury and

"Super" Joe Fecteau as they come through the infield

EVENT 16 - AUBUCHON HARDWARE - BENJAMIN MOORE PAINT

beside Jennifer Getty.

Kingsbury made it through traffic in the Feature....picking up a 9th place finish

EVENT 17 - BOND AUTO LABOR DAY CLASSIC

SEPTEMBER 3-4, 2011

Troy picked up a 7th place finish in the Riverside resumption

After turning the 8th quickest lap in qualifying, he finished the first segment in the same spot

Competing in segment two....his finish was not good enough when combined with segment to

land in the top ten overall
