Emerson, Chris

Chris enters the 2011 season in the Junkyard Warrior Division, perfect for a newcomer to the high banks of Thunder Road. His only prior experience on the oval was in a Run-What-U-Brung Spectator race....and apparently he liked it! There are some quality cars in this class so Emerson should focus on gaining seat-time and learning all that he can. This is the last season for the Warriors....if he has aspirations to move up to Street Stocks next year any laps he runs now will pay off big time!

Chris looked respectable in his first race in the Junkyard Warriors

Emerson is helped to the ambulance after his debut is cut short in the Reserve Feature when another

car slid directly in front of him and he had no where to go. Although sore, Chris wasn't injured.

Three wide and on the outside...Chris did a great job holding his line and not getting loose

Emerson fought his way through the Reserve Feature to earn his way into the Feature....just as I predicted last week!

Good to see Chris racing under the lights in the Main Event....where he picked up a 5th place finish among the Warriors

Emerson had a pretty good battle with perennial front-runner Brock Parrott

This didn't end up nearly as bad as it looked like it would as Chris turned sideways in front of Lyndsay Christman,

making her debut at Thunder Road. She locked up the breaks and saved them both a lot of headaches

Chris did a good job keeping up with Street Stock Keith Fortier in the Reserve Feature...but missed moving on by one spot

Chris seemed to be having some mechanical issues most of the day....not sure what was going on
